Buckley Media's founder, Kate Buckley, has 25 years of experience in marketing and business development, with deep experience in Premium Domain Sales, Acquisitions & Consulting, Naming and Branding. An intuitive and creative thinker, she strategizes with individuals and brands, then translates those roadmaps into deliverables: naming, domains, creative strategies—reimagining their past, orienting their present, and co-creating their future. Kate worked for Top 5 agencies in the New York, and for brands throughout Southern California and the South — and can speak all those languages. And has spent enough time in Silicon Valley to understand how that ecosystem works as well.
Kate has worked with premium domains since 1998 (The Castello Brothers) and is an expert at premium domain appraisal, consulting (ideation, sales, and strategy) and representation—buying and selling ultra-premium .COMs for investors, PE, VC, established companies, and start-ups—matchmaking the right domain with the right company. She has personally brokered millions of dollars in both private and publicly-recorded top sales including names like Chocolate.com, eBike.com, Engage.com, Faith.com, and Rate.com. She excels at analyzing an organization's critical requirements, understanding both who a brand is now, and who they want to be when they grow up — devising the names and procuring the domains, stories and strategies to bridge that gap.
Kate holds a BA in Advertising and Public Relations, an MFA in Creative Writing, and is a Certified Professional Coach (LCIOC) and Public Speaker (AMA). Also an award-winning poet and writer, she was named the inaugural Poet Laureate of Laguna Beach in 2017. Kate's a strong believer in supporting community. Apart from her involvement in a personal capacity, she ensures that Buckley Media provides pro bono work for worthy causes and donates a considerable portion of the proceeds of each domain sale to charities such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Feeding America, and WaterSchool.
